Publishing 101-Phase 2
[Your Manuscript] Submitting
Finally, let’s talk about how to submit your manuscript!
That’s the good news.
The bad news is I can’t tell you exactly how to submit it because it really depends on who you are working with and what their requirements are.
What I can tell you is this:
- Go back and make sure you do one more spell check on the entire document–especially after you’ve added the front and back material I discussed last week.
- Go to the website where you want to submit your manuscript–whether it’s for a contest, an agent, a publisher or someone like me, you will be able to find information about what their requirements are for manuscript submission.
- Follow those instructions to a “T”–pay attention to how they want their margins, the page markings, the submission email, etc.
- Finally, say a prayer! It’s scary and exciting to submit your manuscript–and a little prayer never hurts!
Your next steps will vary quite a bit if you aren’t working with me or self publishing, so you may or may not find the next posts about book production useful–but I hope you will hang in there with me because you will probably learn something that will help you!
Are you ready to talk about book production next?
I hope so!
